CHAN 2016: Nigeria Super Eagles Held by Tunisia

The home based Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to defeat the Carthage Eagles team of Tunisia today as they both settled for a 1-1 draw.

Chisom Chikatara opened the score sheet for the Nigerian team in the 52nd minute of the game(his fourth of the tournament) after a brilliant set up by Osas Okoro but the Tunisians responded in the 70th minute with a goal from Ahmed Akaichi.


The final scoreline sees Nigeria presently leading the group table with 4 points while Tunisia are second with 2 points. The upcoming match between Niger Rupublic and Guinea  will determine who tops the group table.

The Super Eagles are however a step closer to the Quarter Finals of the competition and a win or draw will seal their place in the last 8 qualifying spot.
