The Code of Conduct Tribunal,CCT, on Thursday insisted on moving ahead with the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Saraki’s counsel, Ahmed Mogaji had beforehand urged the tribunal to suspend further hearing on the matter pending the Supreme Court’s decision on the matter.
His argument was, however, opposed by the prosecution, Rotimi Jacobs.
The Tribunal having listened to submissions from both counsels, refused to adjourn the case to the displeasure of the defense counsel.
Reacting to the development, the defense counsel, Ahmed Mogaji in frustration resigned from defending Senator Saraki.
However, Saraki has asked for the case to be adjourned to enable him engage another defense counsel.
Adjournment of the case has been fixed to November 18 and 19.
