EXPOSED:Gabonese President Ali Bongo An Adopted Nigerian

President Ali Bongo of Gabon is in danger of losing his wealth and a ban from contesting for the country's 2016 election over the discovery he is a Nigerian of Ibo descent and  not a Gabonese-born citizen as his birth certificate claims.

Last year, French author Pierre Péan also accused Ali Bongo  of having Nigerian origin and adopted during the 1967-70 Biafran war. Péan also claimed he had lied about his educational qualifications. His political opponents and critics also claim he falsified his birth certificate to hide the fact he was adopted from another country.

This revelation is about to be confirmed  by a french court in the western city of Nantes,France, permitting the details of the controversial certificate to be viewed by a member of the family of the former President,Omar Bongo Ondimba.  Bongo himself claims he was born on 9 February 1959,in Brazzaville, former capital of French Equatorial Africa.

25-year-old Onaida Maisha Bongo Ondimba, a daughter of former president Omar Bongo, has been allowed to view the documents in full.

According to his certificate,Bongo claims he was born in Brazzaville in 1959, former capital of French Equatorial Africa.

Ali Bongo assumed the presidency following the  death of his father, Omar Bongo, in 2009. Omar Bongo had presided over the west African nation since 1967 until his death.

If the allegations against him prove true, it could keep him from running for another term and cost him his wealth.
