Hollywood actor, Carlos Irwin Estevez popularly known by the stage name,Charlie Sheen has finally broken the silence about his health status and why he had remained silent about it for years despite the controversies surrounding it and increasing speculation.
In an interview with Matt Lauer,the 50-year-old actor said: "I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive," he further explained on the morning show. "I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me, threatening the health of so many others, which couldn't be further from the truth.
"It’s a hard three letters to absorb and a turning point in one’s life. he admitted.
Sheen told the interviewer that he was diagnosed about four years ago but doesn’t know how he contracted the disease.
“It started with what I thought was a series of crushing headaches. I thought I had a brain tumor. I thought it was over.” he said.
He has appeared in many popular films such as Scary Movie 5, Machete kills,Two and a half men,Deeper than deep, Mission to mars etc.

Charlie Sheen has fathered five children and none is HIV positive.
