Kogi Election: Tension As Result Sheets Go Missing,Soldiers Lock Down Polling Unit

 As the people of Kogi throng out to elect a new governor today,Saturday,some cases of irregularities have been reported giving room to tension and uncertainty among the residents.


According to reports, ballot papers were snatched by armless thugs, at RAC unit 10, Anyigba, at about 8:30am.

A PDP official also complained that his party agents and that of other political parties cannot access the INEC office in Dekina. “There are cases of missing result sheets in some areas,” he said.

Reliable sources identified the  polling unit where the result sheets are missing as Ajetachi. It is also the polling unit of Abochi Aji, a prominent member of Abochi Aji, a top member of Abubakar Audu's campaign organisation.
Reports also infer that the council in Dekina local government areahas been on security lockdown, since 5:00 am and neither party agents nor voters are able to freely move around.
Although there are 22 contestants in the governorship race,Audu Abubakar, candidate of the All Progressives Congress is the major opponent poised to unseat the incumbent governor, Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party, who’s seeking a second term in office.
The election is scheduled to take begin at 1 P.m,Saturday afternoon.
