The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the inconclusive Kogi State governorship election, James Abiodun Faleke,on Monday, picked Muhammedu, the son of late Prince Abubakar Audu, as his running mate.
This has ignited a new spark of controversy as the party wants Muhammedu to be its governorship flag bearer with Faleke as the deputy.
Faleke announced the choice of Muhammedu and vowed to defend the mandate of late Audu.
He also revealed he carried a moral burden to defend his boss, late Abubakar Audu and vowed to defend the mandate despite the challenges.
Faleke made the declaration at Audu’s house in GRA, Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Muhammedu and several other Igala leaders present at the meeting gave the assurance they would stop at nothing to reclaim the mandate that they believe was momentarily suspended by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, which declared the election inconclusive.
The election is set to be concluded on Saturday,December 5.
