The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is reportedly set on inviting the Emir of kano and erstwhile central Bank governor, Lamido Sanusi in its ongoing investigation into Sambo Dasuki's alleged arms diversion of arms funds worth $2 billion.
Sanusi was sacked as head of the apex bank by former President, Goodluck Jonathan after he accused the Nigeria Nationa Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) of failing to remit $20 billion of oil proceeds into the national treasury.
According to Vanguard, EFCC operatives are in a dilemma on what to do in order to get the powerful Monarch to speak to them about what he knows about the huge amount of money taken from the central bank under the under the false claim of security ammunition during his tenure.
The Commission is in a fix on how to interrogate him on why the disbursements were never questioned, declined or reported by him.
A source in the Commission explained they were keen on getting direct information from the Monarch but in a way that wouldn't be controversial or land the Commission in trouble.
A top EFCC official has reportedly visited Kano and would possibly have a chance to interrogate the Monarch before returning to the Nation's capital, Abuja to tender reports.
The current CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele is also indicted in the scandal and would soon face invitation from the Commission to explain his part.
Top bank officials are also under the watchful eyes of the Commission and await interrogation.
