Nigerians Chased From Senegal Stadium Over Display Of Biafra Flags,Posters

Some Nigerian football fans were on Saturday, chased from a football stadium in Senegal over the display of Biafran flags and posters.

The fans were expelled from the stadium after they were spotted displaying Biafran flags alongside Nigerian flags at a football match between Nigeria and Algeria at the U-23 African Cup of Nations in Dakar, Senegal.
The Senegalese football association officials tagged the display of the Biafran flags at the Leopold Sedar Senghor stadium “a militant act”.
The Vice President of the Senegalese Football Federation, FSF, Amadou Kane, who got furious over the incident  ordered security officials to respond by tearing down the Biafran flags and posters and drove away the supporters involved.
Eye witnesses also reported that the group, dressed in T-shirts with the Biafra logo invaded the left wing of the Stadium's covered pavilion to flaunt the Biafran flag alongside that of Nigeria. They later displayed a large flag calling for Biafran autonomy.
The match ended in a goalless draw with both the Nigeria and Algeria teams qualifying for the semi-final fixtures of the ongoing football competition.
The Pro-biafra agitations have also stirred controversies especially in the Eastern part of Nigeria as many of them are demanding for secession from Nigeria.
