The Coach Samson Siasia led boys who were not so impressive in the group matches of the U-23 Nations cup were today, able to defeat the host,Senegal to qualify for the final of the competition and also make it through to the football tournament of next year Olympic games.
The match which was played in the Senegal National stadium in Dakar was headed for a goalless draw until the 77th minute when Etobo converted a penaly kick after the ball was handled in the penalty area by a Senegalese defender.
The Nigerian team also had the Emmanuel Daniel to thank for saving a penalty kick by Ibrahim Keita.
Nigeria will now face the winner between Algeria and South Africa in the final while the Senegalese team will know their Olympics qualification fate in the third place match.
